We built the local directory we wished existed.
Trades and local services listed from public records, reviews confirmed by email, and paid placement always labelled. Free to find, free to list.
Reviews you can't trust. Directories you have to pay to join.
Some directories charge tradespeople hundreds or thousands a year. Many review sites take reviews from anonymous strangers. Neither tells you whether the reviewer actually hired the person they're reviewing.
So what do you actually do when you need a plumber? You ask a friend. "Know anyone good?" is the question you ask before opening Google.
We built a free directory where every review is confirmed by email before it counts, and where paid placement is always labelled.
Confirmed reviewers
Every review is confirmed by email before it counts, and a business cannot review itself.
Public records first
Listings start from public records. A business can claim its listing free and manage it.
Labelled placement
Paid placement (Top Pal) is optional and always labelled Featured.
Honest by design
Bad reviews stay visible. Good work doesn't need spin.
Pay however suits the job
Every tradesperson chooses what works for them. Some take cash, some bank transfer, some cards. GotAPal takes no cut either way.
Cash
Still common for small jobs and call-outs.
Bank transfer
Direct, simple, no fees for either side.
Card (direct)
Some trades take cards via their own provider.
ServicePay
Not open yet. Card payments from the same team, coming later.
GotAPal stays neutral on payment method. We never push tradespeople, or homeowners, toward any one option.
