How GotAPal works

GotAPal is a free directory of UK tradespeople — "Find a Pal you can trust". You search by trade and area, look through real profiles and reviews, and contact someone directly. There's no middle-man markup and no obligation.

1. Search by trade and area

Start from Browse and pick the trade you need — plumber, electrician, builder and dozens more — then narrow to your town or postcode to see Pals near you.

2. Read profiles and reviews

Each Pal has a profile with their services, location, reviews and vouches from previous customers. Use it to build a shortlist of two or three you'd be happy to contact.

3. Contact a Pal and ask for a quote

Reach out directly — there are no booking fees. To get prices you can actually compare, follow how to ask for a quote, and check how to hire someone you can trust before you commit.

4. Pay however suits you

Cash, transfer or card — it's between you and the Pal. For larger jobs, ServicePay lets you pay in a way that adds protection for both sides.
