A one-off deep clean takes longer and usually covers inside the oven, cupboards and appliances. For the end of a tenancy, ask whether they work to a checklist and what happens if the landlord or agent asks for something to be cleaned again.

Offices, shops and other workplaces

Agree the hours, the areas and the supplies in writing, and whether the cleaner holds keys or alarm codes. Ask how they handle keys and what happens when the regular cleaner is away.
